Vegan Hair Colour at NW
We are so excited to introduce Botanea into our salons. L’Oreal Professiionel’s first Natural, Vegan and sustainable Hair colour. This is the first time we have been able to introduce a chemical free permanent hair colour to our salons.
Who is it for?
Whilst this will not necessary appeal to everyone, below are some scenarios of those that we believe will be excited to hear about the introduction of this hair colouring system.
Anyone that has an allergy to hair colourants, the common culprit for the reaction is an ingredient called Paraphenylenediamene (PPD). Botanea contains only leaves and water (with a little coconut oil). So whilst you still need to have a skin test before every Botanea treatment, it is a lot less likely that you will have a reaction. This opens the colour door to anyone not previously able to colour their hair due to allergies, as PPD is found in almost all hair colourants.
There is a huge shift in our culture to use products from more natural sources. The natural market is growing more than 2 times faster than the professional market. With 3.5 millions adults that identify themselves as Vegans in 2018 (up from 540,000 in 2016), there is a need for a natural hair colourant that is certified vegan.
Expectant or new Mothers
Now more than ever, we are focusing on what goes into or onto our bodies. That is especially true for those expecting a child or breastfeeding. With Botanea being 100% natural, there is no risk or anxiety around colouring your hair.
Never coloured before
For some people, colouring their hair for the first time can be quite daunting. The way this colouring system works, it will only ever work with and enhance your natural colour. It does this, whilst blending away any grey hairs. As it does not alter the hairs undercoat, it is relatively commitment free as it gradually fades away.
Made up of three ingredients:
Cassia: Grown in several regions of India, it was selected by L’Oréal Research to be used by colourists as an adjuster and luminizer
Henna: Its leaves release warm copper colours ideal for preparing blonde, copper of brown shades. Refined and purified from the henna you might have known from the past.
Indigo: Its leaves contain colour that deliver colour results varying from blue to purple, ideal to brown or dark bases, in combination with henna.
