L’Oreal ID Artist Audition
The ID Artist programme from L’Oréal Professionnel has one goal – to find talented individuals who could be the future stars of the hairdressing industry and work with them to further develop their talent and discover their full potential.
Launched more than 14 years ago and inspired by fashion, L’Oréal Professionnel has helped to develop hundreds of individuals. Once you are an ID Artist you will be developed and mentored through world-class education from some of the leading names in the hairdressing industry.
There are two paths to choose from when auditioning to become an ID Artist (you can only audition for one of the chosen paths): Session & Cutting and Artistic Colour.
“I initially auditioned for the Loreal colour ID Artist programme for the experience. Getting a place on the team at such an early stage in my career seemed inconceivable, but I used the audition as a platform to practice my presentation skills, get some external feedback and be creative with colour. I presented a 70’s inspired patchwork colour, referencing Elizabeth Taylor’s ‘Cleopatra’ and seventies icon, ‘Cher’ to the panel. I was shortlisted on the day and left with positive feedback. When I received the call to say I’d successfully gained a place on the team I couldn’t believe it. I was excited to embark on a new venture, work alongside some of the country’s best talent, learn about the latest colour techniques and loreal professional seasonal trends and be creative”.
Jordan’s first session didn’t disappoint. Two days in Leeds getting to know the rest of the team and seminars with Andrew Barton and Luke Pluckrose. His weekend consisted of sessions on social media, insights into upcoming trends for A/W17, presenting on stage, practical sessions on creative colour techniques and a showcase of L’Oréal’s new Majirel Metallics range.
With a showreel master class, creative sessions in Barcelona and preparation for the live colour trophy regional tour coming up, We are all looking forward to a busy year following him on the Loreal ID artist team.
